The Merbein-South Cricket Club in conjunction with the Merbein & District Cricket Hall of Fame Committee is in the process of building a web site which will be called the “Merbein & District Cricket Museum”.

This web site will enable our club to ensure that the history of cricket in the Merbein community will be gathered in one place, by all that have contributed to it. Club Historians will be able to publish the history of all proceeding Clubs, biographies of all players from those Clubs, digital images of media clippings, promotion of the player of the week, links to social media plus videos of players we interview. Site will also allow past players and their families to upload data for administrators to update records.

Construction of our site is about to commence, and we expect it to be fully functional early in the new year. This site is being constructed and maintained by Media 235 Design Solutions in Adelaide who have already developed these sites for numerous sporting clubs including the history site for the Norwood Football Club – The Redlegs Museum.

The cost to build and maintain this system is substantial, with funds currently allocated from our club capital improvement account (facilities). Our club is looking to raise $5,000 to ensure the project is completed on time and does not impact the operation of our club’s future development.

Contributions of $100 from 50 individuals is our club’s aim, however any donation that you could provide would be greatly appreciated and would go a long way to ensuring that the history of cricket in Merbein is never forgotten. It is noted that all contributors will be recognised on the new site and that 100% of funds raised will be used for this project.
